DialogLink 5 Named Information Industry Award Finalist
London, UK (29 November
2005)
DialogLink 5 has been named a
finalist for an International Information Industry
Award in the category of "Best Specialist
Search Product." The award winner will be
announced at a special awards dinner Wednesday,
November 30, 2005, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.
"We are proud that DialogLink 5 is being recognized
as one of the best new software products this year," said
Tom Tankelewicz, Dialog senior director, Product
Development. "DialogLink 5 was developed with
the needs of the information professional in mind.
This honor is a clear indication that we are providing
the tools our customers need in today’s information
environment."
DialogLink 5, launched in March 2005, is designed
to enhance the workflow of the information professional,
especially in the areas of search management, post-processing
of search results and chemical structure searching.
DialogLink 5 is built with XML-based Web services
to enable Web-based functionality for the traditional
Dialog®Classic interface.
The report-building and linking capabilities in
DialogLink 5 provide a faster and more efficient
way to integrate retrieved information into reports,
company publications, and company intranets and portals.
DialogLink 5 is "a time saver," according
to Information World Review. This free software
makes it easy for Dialog users to quickly transform
information into professional, polished reports.
As Laura Felter also wrote for Searcher magazine, "Dialog
has reduced the learning curve for creating customizable
reports from hard-earned search results, making report
creation a reality for more of its users."
In addition DialogLink 5 allows a researcher to
use a chemical structure as a search term in databases
that include chemical structure images. For more

The "Best Specialist Search Product Award," sponsored
by IEE/Inspec, is a new award, which recognizes an
innovative search product or service selected from
the nominations from the information community.
The awards dinner, held in conjunction with the
Online Information Conference 2005, offers the global
information industry an opportunity to recognize
the achievements and innovations of individuals,
teams and suppliers in the information industry.
